For Managers and Team Leaders: Understanding Pay Transparency

Pay transparency regulations are now a reality for employers. As a manager or team leader, you're on the front line of these conversations and what you say matters, legally and practically.

In this 95-minute webinar, we'll walk you through everything you need to handle these conversations confidently.

The Law (Simplified)

We'll start with the essentials: what the Equal Pay (Transparency and Reporting) Regulations 2026 actually require, what it means for your organisation, and where your responsibility as a manager fits in. No legal jargon; just the context you need to understand why this matters.

The Practical Stuff (That Takes Up Most of Our Time)

  • Real scenarios you'll face: A team member asks "Why am I paid less than my colleague?" What do you say? We'll work through this and other tough conversations step-by-step.

  • The scripts that work: Word-for-word language you can use (and adapt) for common questions and concerns.

  • Common mistakes to avoid: Phrases and approaches that create legal risk without you realising it.

  • When to loop in HR: Knowing when a conversation needs escalation, and how to flag it.

  • Handling tough questions: Staff will ask things you might not have answers to we'll cover how to respond professionally and safely.

Your Takeaway

By the end, you'll have practical tools and confidence to handle pay transparency conversations without creating problems for yourself or your organisation. You'll also receive a certificate of attendance, which serves as evidence that you and your organisation have taken proactive steps to understand and manage compliance with pay transparency obligations. Should any dispute arise later, this demonstrates due diligence and a commitment to lawful, fair handling of these conversations.
